October is National Farm to School month. Farm-to-school practices connect schools with fresh and healthy food grown or raised by Minnesota farmers. In the past, the Montevideo students have been served apples, corn on the cob, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, garlic, honey, and bread made with whole wheat flour - all from local or regional farmers.
To celebrate Farm to School this year, our students and staff are participating in the Minnesota Great Apple Crunch on Thursday, October 13. This collective crunch encourages healthy eating and supports Farm to School and other local food initiatives throughout the region.
