Superintendent Search

The School Board of Montevideo Public Schools is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Superintendent. The School Board contracted with the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) to guide and provide assistance throughout the process. A team from the Minnesota School Boards Association’s Executive Search Service has been selected to assist the School Board in securing and screening applicants. The search team will be led by John Ward, MSBA Associate Director of Leadership Development and Executive Search.

Leadership Profile

The Montevideo School Board seeks an honest superintendent of high moral and ethical character who:

  • Promotes business and community involvement in schools

  • Is visible and accessible to the School Board, staff, students, parents and community

  • Has proven abilities in human relations and communications

  • Is a visionary, creative thinker

  • Develops trust and works cooperatively with the School Board and all stakeholders

  • Has experience in school finance

Previous superintendent experience preferred, but not required.

Salary and Benefits

A competitive compensation and benefits package will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute.
