Attendance Matters

Missing a day of school here and there may not seem like much, but absences add up!

  • They will miss 18 days a year.

  • They will miss 27 hours of math over the school year.

  • They will miss 54 hours of reading and writing over the school year.

  • They will miss 1.5 years of school by graduation.

When a student misses four days of school a month...

  • They will miss 36 days a year.

  • They will miss 54 hours of math over the school year.

  • They will miss 108 hours of reading and writing over the school year.

Students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well academically, learn to read proficiently, and graduate from high school. Consistence attendance builds a strong work ethic and routine that is valuable throughout life.
