Students in Brandee Shoemaker's 6th grade math class wait all year to create a tessellation project. Students start with a 4x4 (inch) square and manipulate the paper to create original tessellations. Students then have the chance to have their name selected to paint their design on a ceiling tile. Great work, Hawks!

🌟Staff Spotlight🌟 Meet Jasmine Heim, Community Education Recreation & Aquatics Coordinator! Hi, my name is Jasmine. I am Montevideo-raised and a 2021 graduate from Montevideo High School. During my Junior-Senior year (attending high school online and through Zoom during Covid), I worked as a florist. I moved to South Dakota after high graduation and lived there for two years before coming back to Montevideo. I attended Minnesota West Community & Technical College for a degree in Business Management and graduated in the spring of 2023. I started working at Montevideo Community Education in September of 2023, and I am also the director of Montevideo Just For Kix. Working with kids in and out of the Community Education office is what I love to do! Between both positions, my free time is pretty limited--especially in the summer! However, I love to cook, read, and spend time with friends, family--and my cat--Hopper. I also love music, so I often attend concerts, collect cassette tapes, CDs, and have over 250 records. We are very proud to have Jasmine on our team! #HawkPride #StaffSpotlight

Second graders were special guests at the school board meeting on Monday evening. They were proud to represent Ramsey by sharing the process of publishing their own writing and illustrations in their class book entitled “Wild Wonders”. It was a great opportunity for Mrs. Blom’s students to demonstrate their knowledge and excitement, face-to-face with the school board and administration. It was wonderful to hear the pride they take in the steps that it took to become publishers.

Mr. Brady's Anatomy class took a trip to SDSU on Thursday. Photos were not allowed in the cadaver lab, however they were allowed in the VR lab. Nineteen students along with Mr. Nelson partook in the experience and capped off the day with a trip to the SDSU dairy bar for ice cream, which everyone enjoyed on the campus tour.

What a wonderful experience these young musicians had at the 1st and 2nd year Honor Band Concert in Ortonville on Saturday! It was amazing to hear how the directors were able to coordinate so many students from different schools to play a beautiful concert together! Special thanks to Mr. Frank for encouraging his students to participate (even with his extra busy day with the Flood of Jazz). So proud of these Thunder Hawks!
