Mr. McKittrick and Mrs. Birhanzl present on a framework for education: The Montevideo Medical Academy. Montevideo High School received the gift of hearing Reggie's message this morning. It was complete with lots of music, laughter, clapping, tears, and overall comfort and inspiration from a man we've never met and will not soon forget. Reggie travels the world speaking to schools, corporate groups, and professional sports teams. 🌟Staff Spotlight!🌟 Meet our Agriculture teacher, MaQuelah Miner! Hi, my name is MaQuelah Miner. I am originally from Willmar, MN. I grew up on a small hobby farm, which sparked my love for agriculture early on. Through my involvement in FFA and 4-H, I gained valuable leadership experiences that ultimately lead me to a career in teaching. After high school, I attended South Dakota State University where I earned my bachelor degree in Agricultural Education. I had the unique experience to student teach during the COVID-19 pandemic at Montevideo, and I have been the Agriculture teacher now for 5 years. A few of the things I love most about my job is being able to teach a variety of classes, build strong relationships with students, and share my passion for agriculture with them. Outside of school, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, hunting, and spending time with my animals, family, and friends. We are proud to have MaQuelah on our team! #HawkPride #StaffSpotlight

🌟Staff Spotlight!🌟 Meet our Print Room Assistant for the school district, Chanda Norby! Hello! My name is Chanda Norby. I am a Montevideo graduate (Class of ‘94, the last of the Mohawks!). I work in the district’s print room and do printing for all six school buildings in the district. Along with my job in the print room, I also worked as a testing proctor for the NWEA's, MCA’s, and the ACT's for 9 years. I live on a farm outside of Milan with my husband of 25 years, Jason. We have three children, Cale (19), Jessa(17), and Ty (17). Outside of work I enjoy reading, traveling, spending time with my family, and cheering on my kids in their activities. 🌟Staff Spotlight!🌟 Meet Allie, our Library Media Assistant at Montevideo Middle School! Hi! My name is Allie Virnig. I am from Granite Falls and graduated from YME. I am currently working toward a degree in Social Studies for Secondary Education, and would love to become a middle school teacher. I have worked with children for many years, but I knew I wanted to go into teaching when I started working at the YMCA in Marshall. I started helping out with their distance learning program, went on to do their after school program, and then continued working at their summer camp for about three years. I enjoy reading, playing tennis, listening to music, and learning new things. I love working in the library, and I am very grateful to have the chance to get to know our wonderful students every day. The 6th Annual Montevideo High School Career Fair is Monday, Nov 4th from 5-7:30pm. Stop in to visit with over 40 vendors including post-secondary + businesses in this "open house" style event. La Plazita will cater a free meal (sponsored by: Friendship Homes, Minnwest Bank, and the Southwest Initiative). Identify opportunities and what your student needs to prepare for multiple career fields.

🌟Staff Spotlight!🌟 Meet Danielle, Administrative Assistant at the Montevideo High School! Hi! My name is Danielle James. I spent my childhood living in Maryland, then later moving to Delaware. I moved to Montevideo in February 2020. While spending nearly twenty exciting years in the restaurant industry, I have found my career in Montevideo Schools the most rewarding and enjoyable. I have a 10-year-old stepdaughter, two snuggly dogs, and my husband Steven at home. I enjoy cooking, football, visiting my favorite place (Chesapeake City, MD), and crafting with my stepdaughter. I joined Sanford Elementary School as a Title Interventionist in February of last year. I am originally from Montevideo and recently relocated from Spicer to be closer to my family and friends. Before my current role, I worked as a Lead Therapist at MN Autism Therapy Center. I am thrilled about this new phase in my personal and professional life. I have been married to my best friend, Bobby, for seven years, and we have two daughters, Margaret (13) and Opal (6). 🌟Staff Spotlight!🌟 Meet Whitney, one of our Small World Preschool Instructors at the Hawks Nest Early Childhood Center! Hello! My name is Whitney Sandven. I am a Montevideo Graduate. Years ago, I worked in Small World as Peggy's assistant! I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and four years of experience as a Head Start teacher and four years as a Small World assistant. After losing daycare, I became a stay-at-home mom. Three and a half years later, I'm excited to be back in a classroom! I have a 10-year-old, Breckon, and a 3-year-old, Amiah (who I'm lucky enough to have in my own class). One of my favorite hobbies is kayaking. I also enjoy gardening, canning, baking, creating things, sewing, hunting, camping, and ice fishing with my family. We're proud to have Whitney on our team! #HawkPride #staffspotlight
