Hello! My name is Rafael. I'm originally from Honduras. I hold a Master's degree in Business Administration and Finance, and I'm currently pursuing another Master's degree in Human Resources Administration. I really enjoy learning about the culture of different countries. My journey with Montevideo Public Schools began in September 2020 as an ESL Paraprofessional. Later, during the 2022-2023 school year, I worked as a Family & Community Liaison at the Montevideo High School. What a wonderful experience these young musicians had at the 1st and 2nd year Honor Band Concert in Ortonville on Saturday! It was amazing to hear how the directors were able to coordinate so many students from different schools to play a beautiful concert together! Special thanks to Mr. Frank for encouraging his students to participate (even with his extra busy day with the Flood of Jazz). So proud of these Thunder Hawks!

Meet Alyssa Amborn, Special Education Department Secretary at Montevideo Middle School!
Hello! My name is Alyssa. This is my fourth year working at ISD #129 in our Special Education Department as Secretary; prior to taking this position I worked in Granite Falls at the Avera Hospital/Clinic as a Radiologic Technologist for 9 years. I grew up in Luverne, MN and went to college at NDSU where I met my husband, Mike Amborn (Mike grew up and graduated from Montevideo High School). Fun fact about me: I was on the NDSU Women's Golf Team during my Freshman year of college. We decided to move back to Montevideo to be close to family and raise our family in a small town. Mike owns a Civil Engineering firm downtown Montevideo & we have 4 children; Samuel, Caroline, Evelyn & Bennett & a Black Lab, Luca. We are living a busy life, running around to kid activities/church events and supporting our Hawks teams.
In my free time, I enjoy walking, spending time outdoors, golfing with friends and family, making sourdough bread, playing cards, finding a new project to do at home, traveling with family, spending our summers at the lake, and much more. I have enjoyed working with my coworkers, getting to know students and families, and helping out however I can in our district!
We are so proud to have Alyssa on our team!
